What to do with the stupid glass.

On NPR the other daythey were talking about positivity. They said the best way to see if you are a positive person is to ask the question, "Do you see the glass as half full or half empty." I would say this is a pretty universal way to gauge your view on the world, but I see it is flawed.

What is the benefit of seeing the same thing through two lenses? If I assert that in fact the glass is not half full, does that automatically make me a negative person! No. It makes me a person who sees reality for what it is. I am able to accept what is around me.

I see this in other situations. If I disagree with you, you label me as negative. How does that work? I'm not being negative, I just don't believe what you believe.

When I am asked the question, " Do you see the glass as half full or half empty," my answer is, "I don't care. Let's find a sink and fill that baby up!"
